UltraPdf documents (*.updf) combine
the best features of PDF, HTML (along with all Web enabled multi-media
formats including Macromedia Flash, Windows Media Player, QuickTime
and Real), JPG and Microsoft Office into a single, easy-to-use document
format. UltraPDF documents are both easy to create and easy
to share.
A sample UltraPdf document is available here.
1: Viewing a *.updf document
UltraPdf must be installed in order to view a .updf document. It may
be obtained at no charge from www.ultrapdf.com.
The easiest way to view a .updf document is to double-click on it.
You can also open *.updf documents from UltraPDF.
Note: Users without Microsoft Office may obtain
free Word, Excel and PowerPoint viewers from Microsoft.
2: Creating an UltraPDF document
Access UltraPDF from the Start menu. Select the "Create UltraPDF
document" tab. Add documents and group headers to the document
list. Specify the document information. Create your UltraPDF file
by clicking "Save UltraPdf (updf) document."
Add Group: This feature
helps you to organize the documents in your UltraPDF document by
inserting a group header into the document index.
Add Live URL: This lets
you add live web pages to your document. The content of these pages
is not stored in your UltraPDF document. The UltraPDF document displays
a live web page when viewed.
Add File: Helps you
add HTML pages, PDF documents, Microsoft Office documents and Macromedia
Flash files into your presentation. UltraPDF will store images and
resources of HTML pages saved with Microsoft Internet Explorer using
the "Web Page, complete" setting. Multiple file
selection is supported.
Save List and Open List: This feature
lets you open and save file lists.
Automated Transitions:
You may choose whether you want the UltraPdf file to
display in slide show mode and specify the duration in seconds
each slide is displayed.
HTML Transition Type: You may choose
from several transition effects for offline HTML documents. The
Standard setting indicates special effects are not desired.
3: Creating a Photo Show
Select the "Create Photo Show" tab. The Add Photo(s)
button functions similarly to the Add File button described
above.
UltraPdf will NEVER display a sponsor page when
an UltraPDF document is viewed. However, the free version of UltraPDF
will display a sponsor page in your web browser each time you create
an UltraPDF document. If you would prefer not to see sponsor pages,
you may download a license key for $19.95.
UltraPdf may be uninstalled from the Windows
Control Panel.
